WURZELKANAL-BEHANDLUNGEN

ROOT CANAL TREATMENTS

If the nerve inside the tooth has either become infected due to caries or has been exposed due to an "accident", this usually manifests itself initially with bite pain, ultimately leading to a "throbbing" or a thick cheek. In this case, the nerve cavity and its extensions into the roots of the teeth must be cleaned (disinfected) and then sealed again to make it bacteria-proof. To do this, all infected tissue in the nerve cavity is removed, the root canal is widened, disinfected and filled.

In our practice, we will be able to precisely locate the canals of your teeth with magnifying glasses and light. Where you can no longer see even with the high magnification, we will work with a device that can determine the exact length via the resistance. And of course we will use the latest preparation techniques to widen the canals. This includes mechanical preparation with nickel-titanium files, which are highly flexible and can therefore follow the natural course of the canal, even if it is strongly curved. The canals are rinsed with physiological solutions and finally sealed with a thermoplastic material.

If the tooth is painless or free of inflammation, it can be closed again and restored with a crown or possibly, if the defect is not too large, with a filling.
