Aesthetic Dentistry

Common veneers are very thin porcelain shells fixed to the surface of the tooth through the use of special composites.

Veneers are very natural looking but better.

Non-prep veneers are approximately 0.1 - 0.3mm thin ceramic shells that we bond to your teeth.
In over 90% of our treatment cases, NO grinding of the teeth is required, as is the case with conventional veneer treatments The areas of application for veneers essentially cover the following spectrum:

• to compensate for interdental spaces or malocclusions

• for accidentally damaged teeth

for enamel malformations

• for unsatisfactory tooth colours and local discolouration

• for large visible fillings

• to improve the shape of the teeth

for covering and stabilising root canal-treated teeth

The chemical bond between ceramic and enamel or dentin at the neck of the tooth creates a translucent, tooth-coloured unit with incomparably natural aesthetics that is far superior to a crown with a metal core. Unlike a crown, the transition from the wafer-thin ceramic shell to the tooth is practically invisible and therefore does not need to be placed under the gums.

The problem of gingivitis, subsequent recession of the gums and thus exposed crown margins, which is known from crowns, therefore does not exist with veneers. Veneers are also excellent in terms of hardness, elasticity and abrasion resistance. At the same time, they can be individually designed and thus support the personal touch of your teeth.

Advantages of veneers:

• no unnecessary loss of healthy tooth substance

• extremely stable and very durable

• very good tissue compatibility

• outstanding aesthetics

The "Mock-up"

Today we are able to give you a foretaste of your new smile with temporary acrylics: for this we only need an impression of your upper and lower jaw. Your "new and perfect" smile is then created on the plaster models made by the master dental technician and individually encoded for your situation with a so-called "silicone pre-wall".

This silicone veneer is coated with temporary acrylic in the practice at your follow-up appointment and placed on your teeth. In this way, we transfer the new smile onto your teeth and you will have an impression of how they will "shine" with the future veneers in a matter of seconds. The temporary veneers are very stable under stress, so that you can impress your family, friends and acquaintances with the mock-up veneers for a few days and still influence yourself which changes we should realise on the future veneers.

Bleaching

Tooth discolouration can occur externally when staining food and stimulants, such as alcoholic beverages, tea, tobacco, coffee, red wine, etc., penetrate the tooth, or internally due to the effects of medication, accidents, caries, death of the pulp, malnutrition and much more.

Before a bleaching treatment, the dental findings are first determined. Carious defects and inflammatory diseases of the gums or periodontium (periodontitis) should be treated beforehand. It is important to have your teeth professionally cleaned before whitening in order to remove any deposits from the teeth.

A gel preparation containing hydrogen peroxide is used for tooth whitening. The gel can penetrate the tooth and break down oxygen radicals there. These are able to change colourants in the tooth so that they no longer appear in colour.

The gums are protected with a plastic coating, the "Gingiva Protector" (gingiva is the gums). The whitening agent is applied directly to the teeth to be whitened and takes effect there. The effect is intensified by light irradiation with a bleaching lamp. After 15-30 minutes, the gel is removed. If the whitening is still not sufficient, the procedure can be repeated.
